As the world is changing, we are too. As well as our focus on creating top quality oatcakes we want to ensure our business is even more kind to the environment so we want to become cleaner and greener.
In pursuit of this we are looking for a graduate passionate about sustainability who is able to help us understand our current carbon footprint and work with us to build and implement a roadmap to becoming net zero. As part of the trainee scheme, you’ll be working closely with the management team and will have exposure to all areas of the business: from being hands on in the factory; working with the local government on greener policies; and reviewing how we procure, create and deliver our products in the greenest way, reducing and offsetting emissions at every stage.
A key element of this role will also look at how we can incorporate these measures into our brand values and how we can communicate these with our partners and customers. With Covid-19 affecting trade shows, exhibitions and in-store tastings, we need to look at new ways of engaging our audience. You’ll be liaising with our business development team to create and implement strategies to use social media and other outlets to promote our corporate social responsibility policies and sustainability efforts.
This role would suit a graduate who has had exposure to environmental science, sustainability or renewables as well as a strong business head on their shoulders. Above all, we want someone who is passionate, willing to get stuck in and make a real change to the way Stockan’s does business. A “can-do” attitude is essential.
