Visit us at this year's virtual show

Come along and visit us at this year’s Royal High Show which is running from 14th to 20th June and will feature the very best of Scottish farming, food and rural life. As a result of the pandemic it will be presented slightly differently so please join in and watch all the action online by connecting with the RHS community at https://www.royalhighlandshowcase.org Get ready to be entertained!

Dedicated live digital channels will capture the drama and excitement of the animal competitions, the grace of the equestrian and heavy horses and the sheer variety of the sheep and cattle shows. Over 1100 entries for cattle, sheep and goats have been received this year, not to mention the show jumping, sheep shearing, technical innovation, dairy, bread and handcraft competitions.

Stockan’s is part of the Taste of Orkney virtual stand, which again will showcase numerous great food and drink brands that capture the essence of the Islands. We have a variety of products in our range all baked with coarse ground or fine milled oatmeal, triangle or small round shaped, plain or flavoured. For example, our award-winning Beremeal Oatcake uses flour from the ancient grain ‘bere', a barley with a delicate nutty, roasted taste. This ’90 day barley’ which thrives in the northern climate, is still grown and milled in Orkney by The Barony Mill, Birsay, a working water powered mill that dates back to 1873.

Hope you enjoy this year’s show and here are some happy memories from previous shows including lots of blue sky….

When you are out doing your household shop, please look out for our well-known triangle oatcakes, a shape that dates back centuries to when oats and water would be mixed together, the dough rolled out thinly like a pancake, cooked on a round griddle over an open fire and then quartered.

Or of course you can buy them online at our Shop. Stay safe and we are looking forward to seeing you at the Show.
